Operation Santa - Happy Valley Oregon

Operation Santa has been a part of Clackamas Fire District #1 since 1974, providing toys and food baskets to local families in need.

Food and new toys are collected multiple ways, including food barrels around the county and The Giving Tree at Clackamas Town Center. The program also holds 15 community parades throughout the service district. Volunteers and employees lead Santa’s sleigh in parades down neighborhood streets. It is a loud and fun spectacle that has become a tradition for many families over the years.

This year, the parades will be running through different sections of Happy Valley the evenings of Dec. 8, 9, and 10. Today I buzzed my father's head. The chemo started 3 weeks ago and just as doctor predicted, his hair fell out right on queue.

I even had some fun.

Father

My father has been sick for months, tonight he is in the hospital. He will spend a few days recovering so he can start chemotherapy. This is the first overnight hospital stay for my father.
